email scams or not?

Go to solution

Can anyone tell me if the following is a scam or not.  For sometime now I've had messages supposedly from bt stating that I won't receive my mails unless I click here to go to the verification page - I just send them to 'phishing' but never had reply from bt to confirm if this is a scam or not. The message I got this time is:

Dear User

We recently upgraded our Server to 50 GB inbox space. Please log-in to your user account to validate E-space.

Your outgoing mails won't be delivered by our server, unless email account is confirmed.

Please click on Restore and Upgrade below to your email restore access

Restore and Upgrade

Thanks
BT Team

The Restore and Upgrade is in click form.

Advice please.

Thanks

It is a scam. Do not click on the link but hover your mouse over the links to see where it would take you if you click on it.

If BT needed you to verify anything  which it won't, you would be directed to log on to your MyBT and do it from there. It would not tell you to click on a link.
