faulty bt phone

had the service since 11th august for one week following week the phone stops working they say there's a problem at the local exchange and it will be resolved Mon 25th Aug well not fixed and bt took they first pay now they gonna charge us £129 if the fault is inside the house that's out of order.why has it taking so long to remedy this problem

have you checked the line from the test socket if the fault is there the the charge would not be raised
