Migrations to the 21CN network will take place but no new contracts will not apply simply for the switch. Existing 20CN customers will remain on speeds of up to 8 Mbps but on the 21CN network. New contracts will be discussed if there is a change to the service speed being provided and of course any changes to package price etc..
I hope that answers your question 🙂
resurrect this thread
there has been 2 posts in last day where you have turned down the upgrade to adsl2 even though the upgrade would give some down speed increase but 100% upstream increase
is this a change in wholesale practice? if so do you know why the change?
I'm not sure there has been a change in policy but Wholesale seem to be only accepting orders where there is going to be a clear benefit on the download speed. I look into this and post back once we know more.
knowing the criteria used will be helpful so we don't get mods involved in cases where it is obvious wholesale will just turn it down. interesting you say only where down speed would improve as now many are more concerned with upload speed due to Cloud, dropbox, skydrive nor Onedrive etc and moving to adsl2 would give 100% increase in upload speed
There's no threshold that I am aware of, we run a broadband technology check on the line and wholesale give us a choice of broadband products that they are able to provide on that individual line and we place our order from there. Craig and myself have both had customers recently that were on ADSL2 provided by LLU equipment prior to moving to BT but wholesale have not made this product available on these lines so we have no way of ordering it.
Please continue the referrals and we'll check if anything can be done bearing in mind that we may not always be able to arrange the upgrade to ADSL2 if wholesale won't allow us to.
thanks again Neil
so we will continue to refer for upgrade and see how it goes. the ones that are having problems appear (john46) to be chnages from o2/sky LLU to BT - coincidence?
