have to have phone off hook to connect BB

Hi new to BT BB my BB went active on 15th december but unless I remove my phone from the cradle I Cant connect to BB I have bt hub 2.0 and a seperate phone anyone advise me please

Also be aware that for the first 10 days your line is in 'training mode' where the equipment at the exchange is trying to achieve the best combination of speed and stability.  That said you shouldn't need to pick up the phone to use your broadband.

The BB and phone are independent services sharing a common piece of copper wire.  Just to be sure - you do have the micro filter installed at all sockets?  If so, I would contact BT as the phone being off-hook should have no impact on the BB service.
