home hub and holidays

HI ALL. can anyone advise, if i switch off my hub while on holiday will it affect my line speed on return, many thanks in anticipation TONY

No, only constant connections and disconnections will affect line speed.
If you have BT Vision, and are recording programmes, then you need to leave the hub, and any powerline adapters, connected and turned on.

However I would leave it on.  If criminal types are scanning the area for Wifi hubs and they see one go off for a few days they might guess that the people in a near by house have gone away it would not take a lot of effort to narrow down the search to your house and then break into it.

 

It won't do any harm to leave it on, they are designed to be on 24-7.
