Broadband connectors/ broadband extenders are the cheapest option, for example BT Broadband Extender 600 Kit

Re: how do set up a second tv Box In another room without cables

Thanks. I already have 2 extender kits as shown,  in operation. 1 linked to the router and one to the Youview box at the other side of the room which is linked to the main TV . If I plug a 3rd extender in another room I will then be able to link to a second box? If so, what is the cheapest box to buy as I don’t need the second box to record- just to acccess all channels on my BT account.

Richie
thanks for your reply. i have tested the connection by moving the youview box to the room where i want to have the second box. i have used the broadband extenders to link back to the router. the Youview box appears to work in the second room, but i cannot access channels through the Guide on the remote - i get a message Anynet+ device is not connected, but the MYBT recordings will play. I am missing some sort of connection, the initial setup had a scart lead connector (the second TV doesn't have a scart port, but is a newer TV). Also, do i need to have connection to an external TV aerial?

Hi @ktg58, do you have a BT TV second box subscription? The subscription channels won't work on a second box unless you pay for this facility, also to watch the freeview channels you will need to connect it to a TV aerial.

Re: how do i set up a second tv box in another room without having to run cables between them?

I haven’t yet purchased a second box, and want to test it out before I commit. I’ve moved the Youview box into the second room using Poweline adapters to make sure this will work. I can access the subscription channels this way, but not the free view channels, which I presume is an aerial problem? I need to know what second box to get from a setup and regular Payment perspective. Can you advise?

Hi @ktg58 yes you'll need a working aerial connection in the second room to get the Freeview channels. If you connect the aerial directly to the TV can you pick up the Freeview channels?

As part of the order process, you are offered either a Youview Z4 box which doesn't record for £49 or a recordable G4 box for £65 and its £5 per month for the BT TV Extra box subscription on.
