Right i have been having problems with Bt broadband on and off for a while now, i have now got 2 new home hubs 3 and both have problems.
I have changed the ethernet cable, filters, reset, unplugged the hub, basically done everything i can think off and im still hving problems with connecting online. When i do get online the web pages run very slowly but give it 30mins my hub craches so i loose connection.
I have reported this all by phone to bt but no avail and its now driving me up the wall, they keep saying a problem on my phone line but there isnt, well it must be with my computer then, umm dont think so as i cleared the hard drive and done a fresh install of my operating system so it cant be my computer. Also the wireless will not connect for long.
Argh all this has started since Bt have started with the fibre optic upgrade
Any one no what else that could be causing my problems
are you connected directly to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
