infinity2 slow down

Go to solution

Hi

My connection has slowed down, for some reason my hub rebboted the other day and connected at a slower speed. I have taken screen shot from event log to show the difference. How can I get my speed back? Because the speed is within the recognised limits "there is nothing wrong".

10:59:23, 06 Jul.

(571562.540000) PPPoE is up - Down Rate=53081000Kbps, Up Rate=13850000Kbps; SNR Margin Down=6.4dB, Up=5.9dB

20:15:19, 29 Jun.

( 138.730000) PPPoE is up - Down Rate=67703000Kbps, Up Rate=14108000Kbps; SNR Margin Down=6.4dB, Up=5.9dB

20:01:10, 29 Jun.

( 140.180000) PPPoE is up - Down Rate=67531000Kbps, Up Rate=14036000Kbps; SNR Margin Down=6.5dB, Up=5.8dB

As you can see it changed in the 6th July

Has anyone any ideas as to what happened.

I must admit I have been in touch with BT and should have got a call back  yesterday but not holding my breath. I have also attatched an image from my Sam Knows log.

if you have a HH5 can you go to hub manager then trobleshooting then helpdesk and post 1-12

can you run btspeedtester and when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post results  must be done with wired connection  btspeedtester

are you using test socket with new filter

can you enter your phone number and post results  remember to delete number wholesale FTTC check

try quiet line test   dial 17070 option 2  should be quiet and best with corded phone

THese are the results but every time I do the test the results are very different but none show a connection speed anything like I used to get.

Re: infinity2 slow down

Thanks for that. Your connection speed is a little low.

Can you confirm where your router is connected? Is it in the master socket or an extension?

Do you have a test socket as indicated in the image above from imjolly?

Re: infinity2 slow down

It is connected to the master socket which is an ADSL nation filtered faceplate. I have just removed this faceplate and connected straight into the test socket with a filter, and this is the result.

1. Product name:BT Home Hub
2. Serial number:+068543+NQ41920610
3. Firmware version:Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.204.1.11 (Type A) Last updated 07/07/15

5. DSL uptime:0 days, 00:06:35
6. Data rate:13865 / 56974
7. Maximum data rate:13887 / 57020
8. Noise margin:5.9 / 6.4
9. Line attenuation:23.4 / 16.8
10. Signal attenuation:23.5 / 16.6
11. Data sent/received:0.3 MB / 0.6 MB
12. Broadband username:bthomehub@btbroadband.com

It is as thought I am connected as Infinity1 instead of 2. I was getting these kind of speeds before I upgraded.

If you look at the chart from SanKnows from the last six months you can see when I upgraded and when the speed dropped.
