Hello, I have a BT landline and obviously pay a line rental for it. If I get BT broadband it would use the same line. But would I have to pay a second line rental. I talked to a representative months ago and she said I would. But friends [who dont have BT broadband} says that she is mistaken. Also when I login to my BT a/c and try to buy a broadband product. It looks BT are trying to bill me for another line rental.
Sorry if I have posted in the wrong area.

No, there's only one line rental, because you only need one line. There would be the charges for the new broadband though.
At the insistance of OFCOM, all the broadband providers are now showing how much their broadband costs including the line rental.
