losing wifi connection but lights still blue

we have had bt Wi-fi for about 6 months, we originally had sky but kept losing wi-fi signal 4 or 5 times a day. We still have the same problem, the lights stay on blue but we lose wi-fi signal to our devices, tower, laptop, anything thats connected. This happens everywhere in the house, at random times, almost impossible to reliably work from home (im a university tutor & its all on-line at the moment). Sometimes it can be once a day, sometimes its 5 -6 times a day. it then takes about 5 mins to get it back again.

Sorry, i'm a total dunce when it comes to things like this so please keep any answers simple, i've heard its possible to change channels that wi-fi may be broadcasting on, is that a likely thing and is that easy? Presumably we getting interference from something?

thanks

Jason

Re: losing wifi connection but lights still blue

You can try changing channels from auto oneselected by you - go hub manager then advanced setting then wireless and you can change channel.  Maybe better trying a wifi analyser on your phone to see the channels in use near you then selected the least used or the one where your wifi is stronger

you can also try changing the wireless mode from 1 to either 2 or 3
