My btinternet email account (formerly talk21) on apple products is no longer responding and states ‘Cannot Get Mail The mail server “mail.btinternet.com” is not responding. Verify that you entered the correct account info In mail settings’ All the info is correct and was working fine up until Sat May15 2021. My partners by email account also has the exact same issue. Sometimes a repair option comes up but this does nothing. I tried deleting and reinstalling the account but it failed to reload properly.

Which Apple products are you using?
The issue doesn’t appear to be device specific, it is occurring on an iPhone 6, an iPhone 7 and iPad 7th gen.
Can you try logging out of webmail and then in again?
We are now using the BT Email app as the ability to add and use a BT email account on Apple devices no longer seems to be an option. We called support and this was the only solution they could provide. Not very good at all.
Time to start moving all my correspondence to my gmail address and forget BT as there have been nothing but glitches and issues since our talk21.com addresses were changed to t21@btinternet.com. How a company as large as BT can have issues integrating itself with Apple products is astounding. Then again, based on our experience of BT over the years not entirely surprising.
What leads you to the conclusion the problem is with BT rather than Apple. The BT mail servers neither know nor care what device is connected to them as long as they are implementing the correct protocols.

Bit of a contradiction there. If BT can't integrate with Apple how do you explain that the BTMail app works OK on your Apple device?
If the Apple device's email app doesn't work with BTMail have you considered that it could be the email app that you are using on your Apple devices that is at fault?
Other than the BTMail app did you try a different email app from the one that you have been using?
