misleading customers

@paddy

I was called by BT 6 months ago and offered a discount on my service.  The operator failed to inform me this offer was only available if I renewed my contract for a futher 12 months.

Had this vital information been communicated I would have declined his offer.

This information should have been communicated over the phone, not by email.

I am therefore unhappy shelling out a cancellation fee.

hows about that then!

Re: misleading customers

Hi @mikerae1980,

I'm sorry you feel you were mis-sold your package. Whenever an order is placed a confirmation email is sent to confirm what has been order. This is done to insure that the order details are correct and also as away of confirming the terms of the order. This should also have been discussed with you on the call. I'm sorry if this didn't happen.

If you would like to make a complaint, you can do so using the link - Complain about your bill or account

Thanks

PaddyB

Re: misleading customers

Just had the same with my TV package. I have checked my emails from BT and no mention of now being in a 24 month contract. Very poor customer service. I will be reporting to ofcom and hopefully if enough other people do bt will be forced to change their shady ways.
