My mind doesn't detect anything suspicious about this, as having 5 emails open can only increase the processing load by a negligible amount. Maybe it was an oversight, maybe other users just don't need this. 

I did find a way round it, which is to open an email, and then log in again to BT Email on a completely different tab on the browser. But then you've opened BT email 2,3, n times which is not very satisfactory.

If you can do this, you will surpass BT's telephone-based email helpers who couldn't crack it.

gg30340, in August you very helpfully described how to highlight large bodies of emails without clicking on the left hand box of each one individually.

If I try today though, doing 1 Click on LH box next to an email in my inbox and 2 Scroll down holding Control and the down arrow, nothing happens. Do you know if something has changed?

I have no idea why it is no longer working in the way that it did.

Actually that is not entirely true, I suspect that the BT Email Team have been tinkering again and as always when they do something it has unintended consequences and they end up breaking something else.

I see that the email system has now been "upgraded" to version 2.18.2 and the way to tick multiple emails as previously stated has been restored and is working again.

That's good to hear, maybe your comment spurred some action.

Sadly in my case I haven't experienced any change, maybe my functionality hasn't upgraded yet. I'll keep trying, it's not the end of the world.

Hi all

Select one message by ticking the box, then SHIFT / DOWN ARROW to highlight as many messages as you want to delete.

Then click DELETE.

This works in May 2021.  Like others, I don't like the new BT mail format.

Just a quick follow-up - after selecting one message, you can use SHIFT / PAGE DOWN to select up to about 690 messages at a time for deleting.

I've just worked out how to do this. Select Settings  from the drop-down list (top-right in the purple banner- your email address) then Mail from the drop-down and tick 'Empty trash on logout'. Then logout and log back in and all the trash will be gone.

Which works once you have the emails in the trash folder!This thread was about how to delete multiple emails in the first place not how to empty the trash folder.
