new email format how do i delete multiple emails

The new BT email is a retrograde step. It takes twice as long to delete emails and move them to folders than it did before . I used to be able to see all my emails and delete ones that I did not either want or want to open, not now. What is the purpose of this UPDATE if it takes more time and is becoming more and more frustrating. Bad move BT.

There are a couple of ways to move emails to your folders. You can drag and drop them or in your list of emails, tick the box to the left of the email and then go to the "more" button at in the menu bar above the list of emails and click on it then scroll to "Move to " then "My Folders" then select the folder that you want to move it to.  If you want to move more than one email to the same folder you just tick each one then go to "More" etc...

If you want to delete multiple emails in your email list you tick the box to the left hand side of the email in the list then select the "delete" button in the menu bar. This will delete all the ticked emails.

If you want to see a full list of your emails in your inbox you should go to the "change view" at the right hand side and click on it then select "None"  which will remove your preview pane and just display the full list and click on "conversion view" which will stop all emails from the same person being grouped together.

Thank you for your help. I changed my search engine back to Chrome from Edge and it was easier to navigate and delete emails. Thank you again.

I have the same problem and this solution does not work.  I have 96000 emails in my inbox and the maximum number of emails I can select at one time is only 200!  There must be some way of emptying the inbox/moving them all to trash?!

How does the solution not work? The title asks how to delete multiple emails and the OP asked how to move emails to a folder and delete ones that he did not want to keep or open. The solution answers that. 

There is no where that it was asked or suggested that there was  "some way of emptying the inbox/moving them all to trash?!"

It may take you some time but as you have said, you can delete your emails in batches of 200. 

In future it may be better to add a "pending deletion" folder to your "My Folders" section and move  your emails to that and you can then delete that folder and its entire contents in one go at a later date or delete those that you do not need or intend to delete as you go along.

Easiest way would be to use an email client to download all of the emails, then delete them from the email client. It may take a while to fetch them all, but at least you can delete them all in one go.

Thanks - I have started to do that using Outook. I have 96000 though! An additional problem is that for some unknown reason I am getting at least 3 of each message in my outlook inbox and some I have deleted are coming in again from BT Mail! It feels a bit like the sorcerers apprentice!

Perhaps Outlook is set to keep a copy on the server?
