new to BT infinity speeds go from 5mb to 73mb

Have only had BT broadband for 24 hours and I have infinity 1 or 2 depending on who you taslk to!! So far I have had to separate channel and go to mode 2 from 1. I am a "special customer" well so the support person said as I have fibre to the premises (doesnt seem to help)

I seem to have solve the problem of loosing wifi about 5 times even though it showed blue on the smart hub by going to mode 2. However the speed this afternoon range from 5 mb to 73mb downloads and 1 to 21 uploads. Also when connected to 2.4kh channel it seems faster than the 5kh channel. is trhis the problem with mode 2?

Any help woild be great or does it need to "stabalise" itself for 10 days as was advised.

Do you have fibre to your home FTTP or FTTC which is fibre to street cab and copper to your home

FTTP will have something like this in your home FTTP modem.jpg

Never heard of a "special customer" before. Must be a new offshore thing to make you happy and get you off the line.

What results do you get from a wired connection

Re: new to BT infinity speeds go from 5mb to 73mb

It sounds more like a wifi problem not a connection problem. Dropping wireless won't change the colour of the hub blue light

Re: new to BT infinity speeds go from 5mb to 73mb

the speed fluctuation is in your download speed not your connection speed?  are your ethernet connection stable and good download speed
