orange light hub 4

Go to solution
Had orange light on home hub 4 for 2 weeks now.

I have replaced adsl filter and cable, tried 3 different home hubs.

The phone line and phone is working fine, I test socket also.

Bt sent engineer who looked at it and said he couldn't fix it.

Could this be problem at exchange ?

Have you asked BT for a replacement home hub 4?

Must have missed that, doing too many things at once here Smiley Wink

Possibly a crossed line, or the broadband equipment in the exchange is faulty or been removed, however a TAMS test by BT should have proven that.

Probably best to ask a mod.

Got openreach engineer coming out on Monday to look at exchange.

I have feeling it's problem at exchange. next door neighbour had bother for 6 months on copper broadband....same symproms as me. they claim they went to fibre fttc and all fixed no problems for 3 weeks

Perhaps you are too far from the exchange? What sort of speed did you used to get?

In order to find out what services and speed range you should be getting, please enter your phone number into this form.

Hi @signaller1234,

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you have. I'm happy to see that an engineer is going out for you. Can you keep us updated as to how the visit goes?

Thanks

DanielS

@Keith_Beddoe

The exchange is only about 30 meters from my house, and green box is across the road.

Speed was never an issue. Couldn't tell you exactly figures but was very good. never buffered etc.

It just stopped one day out of the blue. Completely.

Openreach are at the exchange and green cabinet nearly every day for the past 5-6 months installing fibre. after ruling out my equipment, including think a crossed wire or authentication issue ?

Have you checked your phone number is correct? Dial 17070, and see whether the number read out, matches your phone number, as a crossed line is a possibility.
