I have configured SSH (TCP 22) port forwarding on my BT Home Hub 5, to a SSH server running on my internal network. However the SSH (TCP 22) port remains stealthed on the BT Home Hub 5 internet interface.
Can you please explain, why the port forwarding is not working? as I have followed the BT port forwadring instructions.

Personally I wouldn't ever open port 22 unless you really have no choice.
Much better to open a random port e.g. 30022 and translate that to 22 on the router.
Make sure the device behind the firewall that the port is forwarded to is listening otherwise using an online scanner will show it as stealthed.
Many thanks, but it was only testing connectivity ... I will be running SSH on TCP 53, once it works. I have additional security controls to prevent exploitations.
I have checked and I am not usinga shared IP address, but it is still not working.
Any other suggestions?
