Hi, i have just had my final bill from bt and its nearly £200 so I contacted them to ask about spreading it over 4 months and they said that as the account is closed this is not possible and i have 13 days to pay or legal action will be taken. Does anyone know if there is anyway round this.
They are not allowed to refuse payment plans- just send BT a cheque for £50 every month and tell them to get stuffed.
If BT have refused payment, let them pass it to a Debt Collector- they wont take action, have no powers and cant make you pay more than you can afford (this wont affect your credit file either) and they wont take legal action.
All you'll get is ''bully boy'' letters giving you empty threats...
