renew max hd

hi i had an email from bt to remind me that my tv contract is ending soon . i have max hd at the moment  . unfortunately  max  is no longer available ,we like the uktv and eurosport channels and would like to keep them  .so we can either have the classic pack or move to a now tv pack loose them . my query is in the email it says

Renew or upgrade with us
It's really simple to stay with us. You can upgrade to one of our new offers or renew your current contract. Just get in touch and we'll take care of everything.

RENEW YOUR CURRENT CONTRACT now to me this means i can keep max hd because i had it before the new offerings came out  or am i living in hope

Re: renew max hd

I got an email regarding the end of my contract for this package (16 December) with similar wording, saying new price would be £25 (all discount removed) from end of current contract.

'Renewal section' of the email did not have an online option [button]  (unlike the other 'marketed' NOW TV options.

So I was forced to phone up  (very unhelpful at this time of busy call centres - an own goal?) and eventually got through and explained no online renewal option. No discount would be entertained.

I was told no action was necessary and my susbscription could/would  roll over at the enhanced rate of £25 per month (no, no discount available). There would be no 'period contract' as the package was no longer available to new customers. I said I thought the email was not very helpful to customers who liked the package and wanted to retain it. I was told this would be fed back to the powers that be.

Re: renew max hd

I should add that I refused the offer to renew 'positively' at the time of the call because I had been stung before by renewing before the expiry of a contract and being immediately charged at the enhanced rate - losing the remainder of the existing lower-priced contract.

I suggest other subscribers contact BT to confirm that  roll over (at the now take it or leave  it price of £25) will happen automatically by default

that confirms what i suspected , i think i will not contact them as my bb is out the same time and the email says the price will be the same after that . but i will phone them if my add ons change i.e. kids and extra box

Re: renew max hd

@welshgit so are you saying your package remains the same just an increase in price (still includes BT sport channels and kids channels - this last I don't need) . I don't want the Now TV entertainment pack as already have a reduced rate monthly pass which I don't use as most of it is rubbish in my opinion. My Max 4k contact ends on 29 January 2021, so will wait further information.

Re: renew max hd

yes the way i read this email ,my package will stay the same just a price hike .there is no mention of loosing sport but if it does go it will be no hardship i only watch motogp and European cup rugby when a pro14 team is playing . i have very little interest in english rugby or football  . if i loose it or not i will post it here

thanks

Re: renew max hd

update.  my hd max, fibre and phone  contract ended on the 16/12/20  i renewed my fibre+phone online (got it £10 cheaper ) about 3 weeks ago  , i left the tv as it was and today all is the same so far all bt sport , uktv and tcm are working so ,i  dont mind not having the £6.50 discount as the saving on my fibre  covers it

Re: renew max hd

I have the same, was told that MaxHD can continue but at the £25 no-discounted price.

I did however have to renew my BB at the time so I persuaded them to give me a discount on that so we ended up at the same price overall, bar a couple of quid.

This route has the advantage that if MaxHD does I can cancel it (30 days notice) but the discount is on my BB!

And all I really want is bloody eurosport!
