Hi. I just got a S7 Edge, and was wondering if I can use wifi and 4g calling on it. I tried the EE APN, but the option for wifi calling did not appear. Anyone know how I can get this? Thanks
Hi @arjanvirdi
If the APN doesn’t work then it may need the firmware changed to the EE variant (EVR) which seems to work for others.
As you maybe aware BT don’t officially support the S7 for Wi-fi calling. So that would be the only way to try and get it working.
I found the option and enabled it, but the wifi calling symbol hasn't come yet. Could this take upto 24 hours? If it doesn't work, I wouldn't flash EE firmware on it, as I'm not that needy of it, just wanted to use it if its there.
I would check with the mobile chat team in the morning if the sim has been migrated for the service. They can check the status of the sim with it being a replacement.
If the handset is a generic firmware then fingers crossed it may work.
If you type *#1234# on your mobile
does the csc say evr1 anywhere
I have a feeling it’s the firmware version that maybe stopping you. But check with mobile chat tomorrow and ask if it’s enabled for Wi-fi calling. Unfortunately they won’t be able to offer handset support but at least you know the sim has updated.
