saturated pipe

Its 10pm

800kbps download speed

This Infinity rollout is superb, wooo look everyone we can give you 50mb woooo!, but only halfway through the network, at which point you will hit a bottleneck.

Brilliant...

My mobile phone broadband is quicker. If BT was my company I would be embarassed

Re: saturated pipe

I know im not on infinity!!! I'm on ADSL MAX and have been for several years

But infinity is currently being rolled out in my area, hence why my broadband is lame in the evenings.

Why else would there be 30% packetloss on this ip: 217.32.24.181

inetnum:         217.32.24.0 - 217.32.27.255
netname:         BT-21CN-TMAN-V2
descr:           New Infrastructure

BT needs to get their act together, this is just really poor planning.

Fix the bottleneck!

Re: saturated pipe

I have to agree with John, flaming death.

Infinity uses completely different backhaul links through the BT 21cn network. The only place the two combine is at the BT retail end where both Infinity and ADSL are connected to the internet.

Re: saturated pipe

What is so magical about 10pm? Its like BAM, its 10pm so the speed must crawls down to 800kbps

Its really hard to believe I've been looking forward to this "network upgrade", hindsight and all.

You guys can try to justify BT's ineptitude until the cows come home, but the reality is, I know what I've come to expect from my broadband connection, its speed, its latency etc. Something is rotton in denmark and its not at my end...
