you should be connecting at around 6.8mb this shows that you have a wiring issues that are reducing your speed without trying the test socket should you need an engineer visit it could cost you 130.00 if the internal wiring has not been eliminated

but i have the new style openreach main socket so i think i dont need to do that

your connection speed has improved as soon as you used the test socket showing your internal wiring has a problem

that is not one of the latest filtered sockets that is why you need to remove the bell wire from terminal 3 of every socket in the house

is that an extension lead that you use to connect your hub too if so that is another cause of problems they are very poor when using broadband
