Hello,
I'm trying to recover an old email address from when I was younger. I managed to reset the password to regain access, and waited 5 minutes (the page told me to wait at least 2 for the password change to go through the system). However, whenever I try to log in now, it keeps sending me through a loop of trying to change my password! I'm not logged in on any other devices; I just want access to this email so I can recover old accounts...
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, welcome to the forums.
Do you know roughly how long ago you accessed the email account?
How are you logging in?
Try these couple of methods :-
https://mail.yahoo.com (this is for an address that' still with BTYahoo).
or
https://signin1.bt.com/login/emailloginform
The password reset link is :-
https://register.btinternet.com/cgi-bin/chpasswdsso
which might need doing again. This time wait at least 15 minutes before trying access again.
If you have not accessed the email account in the last 90 days it has possibly been deleted and you will not be able to access it.
Hello,
Thanks for your replies. It has definitely been over 90 days since I last used that email. However, when I try to make a new account with the same address as the old one, it still tells me that the account already exists. Do you know how I can reactivate it?
Edit: Also, when I try to log in to Yahoo with the email address it says it isn't recognised, so I know someone else hasn't taken the email or anything.
The addresses get deleted but don't become re-usable I'm afraid, hence the error message that it already exists.
I've just spoken to a live chat employee and it seems the account is gone forever and can't be remade. That sucks. 😞
