the engineers is taking me into 28th december, x-mas with no broadband :( `

Hi,

 

2 days a go i phoned up bt to pay a credit check deposit. and to be honest i wasn't impressed with the customer service woman's attitude or time conception.she took 20 mins to do 1 transaction and told me that the only time an enfineer woudl be able to com out was by the 28th of december meaning that i wont be able to use the internet until then. The internet is crutuial for me to have over x-mas as i have relatives in australia and i was hoping to skype with them, not only that i have things to do with the uni course im on and i have no way of finding them out unless im in the local libairy and i dont finish uni half the time till 3ish 4 sometimes 5.

So can anyone give me some advice on how i could go about getting it before the 28th of december

Yes cancel BT and go with a company who cares. I have had a nightmare trying to have Infinity 2 installed. Finally gave up and cancelled the whole thing. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. I spent 9 days hanging on the phone for up to 45mins. 3 days in waiting. Two days no one showed up and no phone call to say why.

 

Put up with poor service and they will never change just keep taking your money

It is Openreach who carry out the fibre (Infinity ) install regardless of which ISP you chose the date you have been given will be the first available date for an engineer visit in your area

thanks but i am not quite sure i want it now, i want broadband but openreach seem useless i think i will just try another company and see what they say about it i have come to then of my patience with BT.

they actually cant take your money until it's been installed and if you have the router contact someone from cisco or in networking who has contacts with engineers specialising in openreach or fibre optic. i persoanlly think it's kinda sill just giving up if they have taken your money. i have paid 40 quid cos i havent had a load and stuff on the credit check and if i dont stay with them then i will probs not get it back and bt get s 40 quid for doing sod all, i had £140 deducted for an engineer cos i am under 21 n am a student but i did want it by christmas but if it's openreach i don't really stand a chance.
