I have recently left BT - apparently I will still receive emails via BTfor a few weeks. I am in the process of copying my emails to Thunderbird but I need to set up a new email address. I wantedto use Outlook but because I am still linked to BT Outlook seems to think I want to see my BT mail and I cant seem to set up a new account. Any suggestions welcome
When you say you want to use Outlook, do you mean the email client which is similar to Thunderbird or do you mean Outlook.com which is Microsofts email service.
If it is that you are using Outlook the email client and you previously had a BT email address set up in it, it will stil look for the BT email until you remove the BT email account from it.
You should however be able to add another email account to it even although you have not deleted the BT one.
You can create as many email accounts as you like on MSOutlook, each will have its own Inbox and folders. When sending, you can select from a drop down list which account to send from.
