v v slow broadband 0.08 download !

hi all after some help. weve had very slowbroadband for 8 weeks now, 0.08 download. ive had 2 bt line engineers and 1 broadband engineer all say no faults. iv had the foregin call centre tech guys tell me theres no fault i dont know how many times and say the line is showing speeds of 2.5, but speedtest shows 0.07 and very slow. hub is straight into test socket, ive tried 2 different filters and two different wires from test socket to the hub and its the same on 2 ipads 2 iphones 1 laptop wireless and a windows laptop with cable.

last night the hube was left on, noone in the house has used it and heres the log from the hub this morning. internet wasnt used 1030pm-720 am, seems a very long log for no use but its meaning less to me. any help as i carnt get another engineer out until next thursday !!

welcome to the BT community forum where customers help customers and only BT employees are the forum mods

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router you may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or if HH4/5 then go to troubleshooting then logs and you are looking for 2 line together when hub last connected to internet and they will show your connection speed and noise margin or if netgear enter 192.168.0.1). Then run  btspeedtester  (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results ( do not reset the router).


are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

As per my first post, connection is bt home hub straight into filter into test socket (front plate removed off the master socket) nothing else connected no phones no nothing.
That second paragraph, comes up unable to connect to that webadress with numbers. Going through bthomehub.com, under advanced settings, broadband, connections iv got
Line connected
Connection time 16hrs (since my last reset as per bongo bongo tech people)
Downstream 2.51mbps
Upstream 448kbps

Using bt wholesale speed test
Download speed 0.11
Upload 0.02
Ping latency 68.88

Under advanced test I get
Download speed achieved 0.11
For my connection acceptable is 0.05-0.25mbps
Additional info
Your DSL connection rate 2.56mbps down, 0.45 up
Ip profile for my line is 0.14

No idea where I find anything about noise.

Slow is an understatement weve had about 2.4 Mbps download speed for last 5 years just dropped off end of October, nothing new on house, no new connections etc nothing else connected it's purely master test socket to filter (3tried) to hub (2 connection wires tried) to one of 5 devices, same on all of them whether wireless or wired connection

which version of hub are you using?  the 192.168.1.254 is standard for all the hubs and your get you to hub manager  need to be in address bar of browser

you are on adslmax and the low download speed is due to your rock bottom profile probably due to connection dropping or manual resets trying to improve speed or a combination of both.  your conenction speed during ohne of the drops was very low<200kbps which resulted in low profile.  now toue speed has increased your profile takes 3/5 days stable connection to catch up

Thanks for the reply. This started 7 weeks ago, there's been no resets it just went like this. It's had a couple of resets this week but by request of the Far East whiz team...or not as the case may be.
It's a home hub 4 was replaced 3 weeks ago, been through all the settings but carnt find any results as per your posting so need more directions on that I'm afraid. Doing my head in! Taken 10 mins just to load this page log in and post this !
