various speedtest showing different speeds why ?

hi folks

just signed up for IPTV, and its buffereing, so I checked my BB speeds

on

Speedtest.net  =  4m

boardbandspeedchecker  = 5m

speedtest/btwholesale   =  16m

all of these tests were carried at one after the other

then i tested speedtest/btwholesale twice with no gap between tests

first test it said 4m

second test is said 16m

I can see if the tests are 5 minutes about there could be different speeds but how can it be different if its seconds different in testing

The BT Wholesale test is the only reliable one, as its not affected by general Internet congestion.

Beware flash based sites etc.

Try this one, it uses HTML5 in the browser.

Not all browsers are happy with HTML5 yet

the only accepted speedtest is the BT Wholesale one as it shows the speed within he BT network all other speedtests are affected by general internet usage and activity

were you using a wired connection when doing the speedtests

yes wired connection

still does not explain why 2 tests with BTW seconds apart show around 10m different in speed

Download speeds vary constantly it is normal

did you have any other devices running at the same time was a device updating while you did the speedtest
