very slow adsl connection

 

My connection was great till a few days ago, was getting arounf 16mbs down and 2mbs up (i think) anyway since Friday i've been getting a meer 400kbs down and 200kbs up. 

 

here are stats:

if you had 16mb connection speed then there is a serious problem with your connection.

 

are you connected to the test socket via a filter?  try quieyt line test  dial 17070 option 2 should hear nothing and best with corded phone   if cordless then dull hum normal

yes you should hear nothing with a corded phone apart from the voice saying 'quiet line test'  what about test socket

Yep couldn't hear anything on both, just 'quiet line test'

are you connected to the test socket when you posted the stats?  if not and your router now connected to the test socket can you post new stats please

do you have another router that you could try to eliminate a router problem?  mod assistance is next if router ok

Sadly haven't got any other router to try. Just spoke to BT and they're gonna reset the line. Thanks for your help.

there is noting to reset you either live a long way from the exchange or there is a serious wiring fault but with your line attenuation 16mb is impossible and the current speed you are getting is very good as you are so far away from the exchange in theory broadband should not be available
