why bt??speed

Go to solution

how come bt cant give me any reason why iv lost 5mb of internet speed in no time

one day i had over 7mb and now im lucky to get 2mb

iv had a bt guy out to have a look at it and all, and he has put in for some sort of reset, told it would take 4hour, no joy, phone up, they say after the 4hours it would take 48 hours to balance, quess what still no luck

so i asked the guy on the phone to night  how come iv looks the 5mb, he never really answered, but said the downstream is 8mb, that means your downloading speed will be 1.5-2.5mb

so i cant understand how iv had 7mb for a few years now

heres my specs

suggest you run a bt speedtest speedtester.bt.com and when completed post the results back here as they will help with your speed issues

Re: why bt??speed

stats look good with 8mb connection being max speed for adslmax.  your connection time is <4hrs suggesting resets/disconnections. was this done by the hub was did you try some resets in the hope your connection would come back to normal?  as john46 requested the btspeedtester will probably show a low profile due to the resets

your ip profile is currently sitting at 2000 so your not going to get more than you are at present wait for 2 more days for your profile to rise with sinc speeds and then run the test again

if you just stay connected 24/7 for 3/5 days then your profile will come back to 7150

Re: why bt??speed

can you post your stats again and runbtspeedtester and post results

if your profile is still 2000 and your connection time is 3+ days then you should email the mods as your profile is stuck
