Re: zero upload speed ADSL broadband

Hi Robbie

The reason why I am asking her to get in touch with me is that I have a problem now. And yet she said that there was no issue now, so why can I not access the internet?  Why do I have to wait until Thursday?

Thanks.

Re: zero upload speed ADSL broadband

if you can use the speedtest then you have an internet connection the wait is to allow the connection to stabilise

Re: zero upload speed ADSL broadband

But nothing has been done so what needs to stabilise?

Re: zero upload speed ADSL broadband

I has taken me several attempts to do the test, as I could not even open GOOGLE.  And finally when I could do the test the speed was 0.03.  So yes I sometimes can acces the internet, bur only for 1 minute per hour or so.  Surely that cannot be satisfactory under any circumstances.

Re: zero upload speed ADSL broadband

Have you tried connecting a different computer connected  to your home hub, as the upload speed may be affected by something on the computer itself.

As your IP profile is correct, then it may be due to another factor. The BT Speedtester results would be affected if there was something running on your computer which was uploading data, like a cloud type service, or even a virus.

That would affect your ability to use the Internet.

Re: zero upload speed ADSL broadband

The sad thing is that they didn't even try to do anything to find out what the problem is.  I was just told that there was no issue.  Yet I could not acces the internet.  And it always happens between approx 8am and 3.30 pm weekdays.

Re: zero upload speed ADSL broadband

the upload speed has been rock bottom since start of thread so I doubt there has been something running hogging all the up bandwidth everytime the OP runs btspeedtester.  there is a problem elsewhere and needs mod help again

Re: zero upload speed ADSL broadband

Yes I have tried several devices new and older, mac and microsoft.  They all work evenings and weekends but not mornings and afternoons.  I do not use any cloud service at all.

Re: zero upload speed ADSL broadband

My guess is that BT are going to have to run some tests on the line, either from the exchange frame, or from your house.

I am sure that Olga and the team will have this in hand, but it can take a few days to organise.

There is a tester they can use in the exchange, which will measure broadband performance.
