As you’re on a different broadband network BT Support can’t access to the router.
@sasghar12345 I bought my SH2 router on eBay to replace a SH1 router. I wanted to put in the BT Disc to extend Wi-fi into my garden but keep the same SSID.
As I have BT broadband BT updated the firmware.
So you have a few options: give/loan to a friend on BT Internet or sell on eBay with advice it needs to be used on BT Broadband.
I moved to FTTP last month, new smart hub was supplied . The inability to split the wifi has caused so many issues with devices in the house over the last month, that I've gone back to an old Hub 5. (We don't use the Digital Voice line as BT couldn't port our old number, don't ask have wasted so much time over this issue, which made the landline of over 20 years redundant anyway.) Obviously this isn't an ideal option for everyone, but if you aren't bothered about the Digital Voice option, the older Hub works fine and does make connected life a lot easier.
I have also reverted back to the old hub. The firmware upgrade initially solved our issues but we started getting problems again with connecting to old Chromecast/printer about 6 weeks ago. Does anyone know if anything changed then?
Our printer was one of the main issues too - some devices could connect others couldn't "see" it. My Smart hub updated 17th September, but it had not solved the issue.
Another user here has the same issues and is unable to connect smart plugs.
Could I get the firmware update too, please?
what is your current firmware version?
have you tried disabling the 5ghz network and then try connecting to 2.4ghz and once connected enable the 5ghz again
Hi thanks for your reply,
Current firmwear is v0.30.01.08093-BT
