Adding another base unit to my BT 4600 Trio

Go to solution

Hi Guys, we currently have 3 x BT 4600 cordless phones set up as a network. (one base unit with answerphone and two other units that are plugged into wall sockets in the lounge and hall, however we wanted to know if we could do the following:-

1. Replace one of the units as it has a sticky button that you have to press umpteen times before it registers.

2. Add another unit to the trio?  Help anyone?  Can we add another phone if it's compatible?

Thanks in advance guys.  MaiaB123.

Hi

I assume the BT4600 works the same as any others in the range.

I have the BT8500 which started as a trio and then I added an extra at a later date.

The extra unit registers itself with the existing system as soon as it is powered up.

You should be ok as long as you remove the batteries from your faulty one before you insert batteries for the new one.

Hope this helps

It's worth de-registering the faulty unit as well to free up the slot as you can only have a maximum of 5 phones registered to the base station.
