Help please! We have been using the BT Home Hotspot Plus 600 as a wifi extender with no problems for the last year but have moved to a different house and now the we are unable to get a connection.
On the Hotspot plug the three Power, Ethernet and Data lights are on. On the Extender plug the Power, Data and Wireless lights are on. But still I keep getting this IP configuration failure. Any advice?
Just to be clear, is the IP configuration failure being reported by the end device, laptop etc? If so, does the device connect ok directly to the router?
@licquorice I can access the admin page of the router but not the BT Home Hotspot. I read somewhere that I need to find the IP address that the router has allocated to the Hotspot. Do you agree with this and if so how would I go about it?
Yes. If you open a command prompt and type ping xxx.xxx.xxx.255 (xxx being whatever the subnet of your router uses) and then arp -a, you should see a list of connected devices from which you should be able to deduce the hotspot's IP address.
