BT Home Hub 5 and IPV6

Hi all,

I have been with BT for years and got the home hub several years ago and its been fine.  However I noticed that my Xbox connects via IPV4 and it recommends trying IPV6.

I have done a quick google search with out a definite (or current) answer.

Q1. Does the home hub 5 support IPV 6?

Q2. If so how do I set this up?

Q3. Should I be looking to upgrade the router anyway - (have about 9 months left of contract.

Thanks in advance.

Re: BT Home Hub 5 and IPV6

Not sure if BT have got round to updating Hub5s for IPv6, but if they have there is nothing to configure, it will just work.

You can check here  if it is enabled.

I wouldn't bother to 'upgrade' your router unless you were considering buying a third party router.

Not sure what difference you expect by connecting via IPv6 rather than IPv4.

Hmm, I'd take that with a pinch of salt.
