BT Hub 5 problem.

I've had a Hub 5 for some time and it's been no problem until this week. The hub position and my normal laptop position hasn't changed but I get frequent message 'no internet'. At first I thought it was my connection dropping but when I last got the message the router connection was ok. So it seems that my wifi is dropping. Can the hub degrade or be changed to cause this? I should say that BT contract is up for renewal and I note that BT is pushing its booster.
