It might not be an option for you but you could get a pair of powerline adaptors and plug the slave powerline adaptor into the electrical socket nearest your extension then run an Ethernet cable from there into your extension.

 

You can then connect either a wireless access point/extender or something like a TP-Link Nano TR-WR702N to the Ethernet cable which will then give you a wireless network in the extension. I use the Nano set up in an outbuilding and it works seamlessly with all my devices.
