BT Whole Home WiFi Firmware localhost bug

Go to solution

Hi,

I have been experiencing many DNS requests to my own DNS server (PiHole) from the BT Whole Home wifi disks.

Below is an an image of the DNS queries from a single BT disk (after being factory reset) with no clients connected:

It is hammering my DNS server with multiple localhost requests.

This behaviour only started with the latest v1.02.03 build03 firmware.

Please can this be resolved.

Thanks!

The thread concludes with:

"Its probably a software bug."

Let hope BT are made aware of the bug and resolve it...

I haven’t updated to latest firmware because of issues mentioned on this forum! Can you confirm if it’s a few unfortunate ones with issues or is the issue widespread meaning I should hold back on upgrade of firmware

Dan-o, I suggest you get on the case fixing the major problems with BT’s rubbish wifi product rather than lurking to say thanks for one persons problem going away. There are a large number of seriously Pi##ed off paying customers with not-fit-for-purpose product out there.
