BT Whole Home Wifi - Siemens Smart Ovens Wont Stay Connected

Hi. I currently have a 2 disc BT Whole Home Wifi setup, connected to a BT Smart Hub over BT Infinity.

The Wifi on the Smart Hub is now disabled, but prior to installing the whole home wifi, the Smart Hub wifi worked fine without issue, and all devices in the house would remain connected.

With the Whole Home Wifi, all devices can connect and remain connected, except 2 Siemens Smart Home Connect Ovens. These devices continually keep connecting to the wifi every 15-30 seconds or so, resulting in an extremly unstable connection. The log file shows the devices continually associating as per below (i have removed most of the MAC address):

26.01.2018 12:34:55 IF[2.4G]:STA(aa) had associated successfully
26.01.2018 12:34:48 IF[2.4G]:STA(9f) had associated successfully
26.01.2018 12:34:38 IF[2.4G]:STA(aa) had associated successfully
26.01.2018 12:34:29 IF[2.4G]:STA(9f) had associated successfully
26.01.2018 12:34:22 IF[2.4G]:STA(aa) had associated successfully
26.01.2018 12:34:11 IF[2.4G]:STA(9f) had associated successfully
26.01.2018 12:34:05 IF[2.4G]:STA(aa) had associated successfully
26.01.2018 12:33:54 IF[2.4G]:STA(9f) had associated successfully
26.01.2018 12:33:49 IF[2.4G]:STA(aa) had associated successfully
26.01.2018 12:33:32 IF[2.4G]:STA(9f) had associated successfully
26.01.2018 12:33:31 IF[2.4G]:STA(aa) had associated successfully

I have enabled compatibility mode, and also tried changing the 2.4G channel from auto to 1, 6 and 11. None of these options improve the issue. Is there anything else i can try here? As mentioned, these devices worked absolutely fine with the Smart Hub, so i suspect maybe there is something with mesh wifi technology which they dont like.

Thanks!

Re: BT Whole Home Wifi - Siemens Smart Ovens Wont Stay Connected

Hi,

It's possible the Smart Ovens are "sticky" devices which are trying to connect to a particular access point (which may be the wrong one) and won't move to the best disc when being steered by the discs.

You can try turning off one of the discs and setting up the Wi-Fi connection again on the oven to connect directly to the main disc (connected by Ethernet) and then turn the second disc back on after.

Re: BT Whole Home Wifi - Siemens Smart Ovens Wont Stay Connected

Hi. I tried your suggestion, this didnt make any difference unfortuantely.

I also tried changing the wifi channels again, and the devices seemed to be stable for a few hours on channel 11, but then started disconnecting again. Other channels didnt make any difference.

I have called Siemens who said they are not aware of any issues with their Ovens connecting to mesh wifi networks.

Is there anything else i can try from the router here to get this working?
