BTHub 6 acting up

I separated the bands to 2.4ghz and 5ghz as it's not smart to put my phones on the faster 5ghz, so I done it myself.

For a solid month or two, the 2.4ghz has been acting up, it will disconnect all devices connected to it like my laptop and other phones, when trying to reconnect, it says wrong password, I try with my Samsung S10+, it also says wrong password. I try the 5ghz and it works perfectly. What the heck?

The homehub 6 has blue colours so no issues, when restarting the hub, the then 2.4ghz connects  magically connects to the appropriate devices. Because of this, I recently factory reset the router but it just occurred right now, so it disconnects devices then says wrong password until the router is restarted but the 5ghz has no password issues? I'm also on the latest firmware and I'm starting to think it's a bug? This wasn't happening before until recently. I also tried changing the channel for 2.4ghz but no luck, had to restart. Help?

Few images, also HomeHub6: 2.4ghz, HomeHub-5:5ghz, HomeHub_plus: Xiaomi WiFi extender.

Re: BTHub 6 acting up

Have you selected the channel manually rather than auto select

if you have tried that then I don't think it is a bug just a faulty hub which does happen. Phone customer services and ask for a replacement which will be free provided you are still in a fixed term contract

Re: BTHub 6 acting up

It's always on smart scan for both bands, I took out the contact for a bit over a year so I'm not sure if I'm still on the contract, I'll call them tomorrow.

Re: BTHub 6 acting up

You could try changing the DHCP Lease time.
Home > Advanced Settings > My Network > IPv4 Confirguration.
It may cause a problem if you have a lot of devices that leave and join a lot, but for newer devices it should be fine.

You could also set a Static IP on the device it self. In the range of (192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.64), on the default config.
