Call Blocking problem

My BT8600 nuisance call blocker has worked fine until a few days ago. Now with an incoming call, I get the message to say the call is being announced. If I press 1 to accept the call, the line goes dead. If I then look at call history, there are two entries - one showing the number which called and a second entry showing 'No Number'.

Is my equipment faulty? How do I resolve this? As far as I can tell there is no problem with my line - no line noise.

Who provides your phone service?

Have you made sure that caller display is still enabled on your phone line?

Phone service is from John Lewis (Plusnet). Yes caller display is enabled, the number appears in my call list.

Have you tried turning off the power to the base unit, for a couple of minutes?

The base unit can lock up and give strange results, usually after a dip in the mains voltage, where the unit does not reset properly.

Thanks again. I don't get many incoming calls, so it will be a while before I know if this has worked.

Thanks again. It seems that rebooting my base unit has resolved the problem.
(And I've been promoted to a Newbie 😂)
