Changing Wifi Name.

Go to solution

Just been upgraded to to a Hub 2, simple question, I am contemplating changing the Hub name to the name of my old Home Hub 5, and manually changing the password to the same as my old device.  I have a number of friends who have my router name and password stored in their devices and want to simplify things,  or am I likely to break something by doing this?

Never had to do this myself, but it seems to be quite a common way to get all the devices that were allowed on the old router, to be accepted on the new router , without everyone having to enter the new router details the first time they want access..so yep, go for it.

Here is some help, as some people have problems with this one. You will not be able to split the wireless network names, just in case you are wondering.

See http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/14110/~/how-do-i-change-the-wi-fi-password-on-my-bt-h...

You can change the wi-fi password via the My BT app.

    1. Open the My BT app and select Home Network
    2. Select Settings
