Extender 300 weak signal

I have a new Extender 300, using with a new BT Smart Hub 2.  All set up easily, but the Extender light shows only amber when plugged in, and never goes to green.  Even when plugged in within a few feet of the Hub, in the same room.  As a result, the signal is not as strong as it should be.  Any comments or suggestions gratefully received!

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post!

Sorry to see you're having problems with your Wifi 300 extender.  Here is the link to the product's user guide:  Essentials 300 user guide

Here is a look at what the lights on the device mean..

The solid amber light means that the device is too close to the Hub/Router.  Can you try and move further away to see if it still happens?  If you're still having problems your best bet would be to have a chat with product support.  You can find the contact details on the last page of the user guide.  I have pasted this below for you own convenience.
