Google Home is starting to implement GeoFencing and I wondered if BT and the Smart Hub 2 could offer this functionality? I know that if I brought a dedicated router they could offer this functionality via some scripting mechanism on detection of a device IP address or device MAC connecting to the system. However, my Smart Hub 2 seems to be doing just fine. But, there is no IFTTT or any other controls/scripting available.
Everyone in the house now has a mobile phone so tracking whether that is connected to my Home Hub is a good a geofence as anything else I could wish for. Perhaps on detection send a UDP message to a specified IP address - email would be too tricky to work with.
