Get a Landline

I am using BT Home Essentials Broadband. I believe I can get a free landline on this package. How do I go about getting it and does it all have to be  digital phones now or can I just plug my own in?

If you have Home Essentials (social tariff) broadband then to add telephony isn’t free , it’s £2/month for PAYG  or £10 /month for Unlimited Minutes , your existing phone works fine on DV just plug the phone cord into the router phone port ,  if  where you want the phone isn’t near the router you may qualify for a free DV adapter , it plugs into the mains and your phone plugs  into the adapter,  DV phones  are no longer supplied for free
