HH 6 Gigabit ports...how to view what speed connected?

Then its an issue with the RP4 Ethernet port, perhaps there is a driver update needed, or maybe the RP4 does not like the Ethernet switch?

Changing the router will not help with this.

Can you lock the RP4 to 1Gb full duplex?

I'm thinking at this point like you, that it's an issue with RP4 ethernet negotiation between either switch or HH6. I'll Google and see it locking the port to 1000Mbps full duplex will sort it.

Strange though, that BT took away the ability to view at what speed your devices are connected to HH6... You could view this on the HH5.

I think this issue may be due to my cabling. Although the cables state Cat6 I'm wondering if I've got some duffers as I purchased them from eBay and they were very cheap!

With this in mind and bearing in mind I'm on a budget (!) could anyone recommend  where to purchase decent Cat6 cables?

From your advice I tracked the issue down to a bad cable. I have swapped the cable from my RP4 and have hooked up my home network as per your suggestion, Keith: Cat6a cable from RP4 to TP-Link Gigabit switch, all my other devices connected directly to the switch and my switch to the HH6.

RP4 now reports connected at 1000Mbps!

One advantage now, is that you are not asking the HH6 to deal with any local network traffic, so its performance should be better.

Another advantage is, if you restart the home hub, or it restarts itself, it will not interrupt any local network connections.
