Drive Z is my main hub usb port and Drive Y is a spare hub being used as a WAP
Posts crossed, it may be the hub doesn't like the ExFAT formatting. Both of mine in the screenshot are NTFS
I've read mixed reports about NTFS and BT hubs.
FAT should work so I'll try one of those, and NTFS. Back soon.
There was a problem with using NTFS on the SH2 until a recent firmware upgrade which fixed it.
Same effect, FAT and NTFS (Shown). 😓
The UI can see it's there, but won't assign a router IP, or even reveal anything of the contents.
This isn't unique I have to say. I did read a post where someone had paid for one of the HH6 routers, possibly upgraded their older BT one, to get the USB port to do what I'm trying to.
I am thinking, I might be going shopping for a router with a USB port that allows external storage to function?
If you are using a HH6, what firmware version do you have? Mine is SG4B1000E01E dated 23rd August 2019.
The usb port won't have an IP address shown in the network gui. Are you sure you have correctly enabled SMB1 on your PC?
I think so?
How did you acquire the IP address for the device? When I try to use "Map network Drive" nothing is found.
You don't acquire the address, just go to map network drive, select the letter you want to map in the drop down list and enter \\192.168.1.254\usb1 in the folder dialogue box.
