Had solid red bars when connecting my newly delivered Hybrid Connect device. I found the solution in this forum: In my case the SIM holder at the bottom of the device next to the sticker was not seated properly.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with your Hybrid Connect, the issue you had and the solution. Solid red bars does indicate the device is unable to connect and is often caused as you have found by it being unable to read the SIM. So it is always worth checking it is inserted properly and if that doesn't solve it the best thing is to contact us so we can check the SIM is registered.
