Latest Smart Hub firmware breaks 5G connection to wifi repeaters?

I have a 2.4GHz/5GHz wifi repeater in our house which has been working perfectly with the Smart Hub for months.  Suddenly last week the hub had a firmware update, and now the 5GHz link refuses to work.  It connects to the repeater just fine, but if you log onto the repeater's 5GHz network, the Smart Hub refuses to give it a DHCP address so the device ends up with no routing anywhere.  Directly connecting to the hub's network results in 5GHz being fine as well as dual-mode, and connecting to the repeater's 2.4GHz connection also works fine.

I've done the usual of resetting both Smart Hub and repeater and reverting to defaults etc and tried putting the Smart Hub into all three compatibility modes but no joy.

I have to conclude that BT have deliberately broken the 5G repeater support to anything other than their discs. 😡

Has anyone else had this problem?  I've been setting up networks for years and never had this.
