Pairing Mini connectors and Extenders

Hello

I upgraded my BT broadband to full fibre and they sent me 2 new Mini connectors (white) to get the sports channels working.

Previously, I had 4 (black) Extenders for computers upstairs as the wifi wasn't strong enough.

Am I right in thinking that I cannot pair the new  Mini connectors with the older BT Extenders ?

Re: Pairing Mini connectors and Extenders

It is possible with some models, in which case the instructions will be in the user manual. What make and model do you have

Thannks -
BT Extender Flex 500 and BT Mini Connector v2.

There didn't seem to be any instructions about pairing between the 2 different types.

Re: Pairing Mini connectors and Extenders

Page 2 of the user manual for the 500

Using more than two extenders
You can share your connection with other devices around your home by adding more
extenders to the ones you’re already using.
IMPORTANT: If these are your first extenders (and you’re not already using any
others), follow the steps on the inside of this sheet to set them up, NOT the steps
below. Only follow the steps below if you’re adding more extenders to the ones
your already using.
1 Plug the new extender into a power socket and switch it on.
2 Press the Link button on that extender for 5 to 8 seconds, until the Power light glows
steady green.
3 Press the Link button again, this time for 1 second.
4 Within 2 minutes, press the Link button on one of the extenders already in your home
for 1 second to complete the connection.
5 After a couple of minutes, the Power and Data lights on the new extender will glow,
showing that it’s connected.

Page 9 of the Mini connector manual details how to add more mini connectors but in slightly different terms, it can't harm anything to try

Re: Pairing Mini connectors and Extenders

Yep - I'll have a try later on after work.  £89 for another pair of Mini Connectors would be annoying.

Re: Pairing Mini connectors and Extenders

Very annoying. I don't see why it shouldn't work, you basically use the same buttons (but with different names) on both types so you may need to cross refer to both manuals.

Re: Pairing Mini connectors and Extenders

Hi - I couldn't seem to pair these adapters last night but I didn't really have the time to check properly. Will try again at the weekend.

Re: Pairing Mini connectors and Extenders

Hi, could you tell me if you eventually succeeded in using mini connectors and extenders?  I appear to have the same issue and was thinking of buying more mini connectors but don't fancy shelling out another £100 for a further pair of them. Thank you

Re: Pairing Mini connectors and Extenders

Hi - I wasn't able to pair them but, to be honest, I didn't try very hard.

Best bet might be to pick up a couple from Ebay - they seem to go in the £30-40 bracket.
