Router position

Go to solution

My modem is a Openreach Echolife HG612. I need to move the router about 5 metres away, is the short ethernet cable supplied essential, or can it be replaced with a cat 5e,  either crossover or standard ethernet cable?

By all means use a longer Ethernet cable.  Just a straight one, not a crossover.

Any length of standard Cat5e up to 100 meters will work OK.
